You may hate your boss, if you're fat

handshake.jpgWhat if you were looking for work and another candidate, he caught the job because she was thinner than you?

Or what if your thinner co-worker paid more than you do? It is a worrying thought.

Studies in the past have shown evidence of discrimination in the workplace for women, but these studies have been carried out in the United States, where it is widespread discrimination on the basis of sex. Fortunately, the new study was recently published in Icelandic University shows a strong correlation between overweight and to reduce unemployment, especially for women.

Iceland is the perfect place for the implementation of this type of study, because it is a low level of gender inequality. For example, the first woman President of Iceland. So the results are disappointing, that there is still a gender bias against overweight women in the workforce.

Study also the exploration of the men in the labour force and their weight. It was a positive relationship for obese men – held multiple jobs and were paid more. A small piece of change and difference of rot. Various studies have shown thousands of dollars difference in salary, even if you have 25 pounds (studies of the University of Florida, USA).

So what do we do with this bias weight and sex?

It seems that even in those countries with little to no gender inequality, discrimination is still fat. It's maybe the subconscious discrimination on the part of the employer, but it still does not justify.

Have countries have laws against discrimination weight?
