What happens if you are looking for a job and another candidate the job because she was snagged thinner than you?
Or whether payment coworker your thinner than you? This disturbing thought.
And past studies have shown evidence of weight discrimination in the workplace for women, but these studies were conducted in the United States where discrimination based on sex is more common. Fortunately, published a new study from the University of Iceland has recently found a strong correlation between overweight and low employment rate, especially for women.
Iceland is the perfect place to conduct this type of study because the low rate of gender inequality. For example, Iceland first woman President. Thus, the results are disappointing that there is still prejudice against overweight women in the workforce.
The study also examined the men in the labour force and weight. There was a positive relationship of overweight men held more jobs, and they pay a little more. We are not talking a small piece of change. Various studies have shown thousands of dollars difference in salaries even if I was 25 pounds overweight (a University of Florida, United States).
Therefore, what we can do at this weight and gender bias?
It seems that even in those countries with few is gender inequality, discrimination is still fat. Perhaps subconscious discrimination on the part of the employer, but that doesn't justify it.
Countries have laws against discrimination is overweight?
